Alexandra Arellano

alexandraarrelano.jpeg

Hailing from the Deep South, by way of New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Alexandra is a Tejana with familial roots that stem predominantly from Texas, Mexico, and Spain. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Southern Mississippi, TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certifications for teaching business, advanced, and children. Alexandra has lived, studied, and worked around the world and the USA for over a decade. She taught English throughout the Central Valley of Costa Rica for a couple of years before landing in Maine to pursue new career paths in multimedia fine art, cannabis/hemp, organic farming, and community teaching/events.

Alexandra grew up deeply within the sphere of plants, teaching, and Yoga (Her mother was a horticulturist and Master Gardener, and her maternal Grandmother taught both higher education and Yoga around the world, Austin, and the surrounding areas of Texas throughout her life.). She received a full scholarship in New Orleans to complete her RYT 200 in Vinyasa Yoga.

Her expertise embodies sustainable cultivation, product creation and development, photography/print/media, community events, and teaching. These disciplines have allowed her focus to shift over the years; and further encompass wild harvesting, close-loop and regenerative farming practices, and natural dyeing. These roots inspired her to forge her passion project La Maleta Antigua™ and to produce MiKa: Cosmic Glitter™.
