Jacob Shearer
Born and raised in Hays Kansas, in the heart of cattle country. Jake grew up being an avid outdoorsman and nature lover. At the age of 18 years old, he joined the United States Marine Corps Infantry. Served two combat tours overseas and received an honorable discharge in 2007.
In 2012, came to Maine with his wife Rachel, and homesteaded a piece of land in Lakeville Maine. Quickly becoming a mushroom enthusiast, due to the abundance of edible and medicinal fungi found growing among the Maine woods. Also, all while trying to find a healthier alternative to what the VA had to offer.
Currently Jake and his wife operate a small hobby farm called Shearer Family Farm, where he cultivates an assortment of edible fungi for personal use and is an advocate for the free use of all natural medicines.
