Mushrooms and space... two words that don’t seem to have anything in common. As it turns out, they do. In this film, an astrophysicist presents the surprising story of mushrooms in space. Fungi were first discovered on the MIR station in the mid-’90s, and scientists have been studying them ever since - because they thrive in space. They’ve made their way to the ISS and may even be used as building material on other planets.
