John Amabile has career experience as a prosecutor, a public defender, and now a private attorney. He was an Assistant Attorney General from 1982-1986 in the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General's office. After trying hundreds of cases at the county, state, and federal level, he now advocates for drug legalization and sees the Law Enforcement Action Partnership as an effective vehicle to educate the public.
Amabile has defended and prosecuted cases of all kinds, including traffic matters, operating under the influence of alcohol, drug charges, domestic and sexual assault cases, robbery, firearms violations, arson, environmental crimes, theft and embezzlement, conspiracy, commercial bribery, copyright infringement, and homicide.
Currently, Amabile is a principal partner at Amabile & Burkly, P.C. in Brockton, Massachusetts, which specializes in civil and criminal litigation. He received his B.A. from the University of Colorado and J.D. from Boston College Law School.
