MUSHROOMS OF ECUADOR
Alan Rockefeller
Ecuador, a country with roughly the same area as the state of Colorado, is one of seventeen megadiverse countries of the world and sustains unique biodiversity within different forests, habitats and microhabitats. Ecuador is home to countless species yet to be discovered, particularly fungi new to science. Yet the fragility of these ecosystems and looming threats of destruction mean the clock is ticking for species documentation. In this talk, Alan Rockefeller showcases his favorite finds over three years of explorations in the upper Ecuadorian Amazon.
