Dr. Sunyata Shyam is PhD, is a natural health educator, Yoga Acharya (master-level teacher of Yogic Sciences), and specialist in sattvic (balanced), plant-based cooking. At a young age she saw that modern human lifestyles were causing harm not just to ourselves, but for the planet as well—and committed herself to a path that cultivates lasting clarity, vitality, and well-being for the benefit of all beings.
After earning her Massage Therapy degree, she began a deep, long-term apprenticeship in Ayurvedic medicine and Yogic science at Sat Manav Yoga Ashram in Maine. Here she earned her PhD in Natural Health Education through the Sat Manav School of Yoga Sciences.
Dr. Shyam directs The Center for Natural Healing in downtown Farmington, leads transformative retreats and teaches hands-on cooking classes at Sat Manav Yoga Ashram in Industry. She supports women through all aspects of birth and pregnancy as a doula, offers transformative body work and lectures across New England. As a trained doula, professional chef, and mother of four—who were all born and taught at home— With over 25 years of Holistic Health experience, she offers a rare blend of nurturing wisdom, and professional expertise grounded in some of the oldest healing systems on earth.
