SELMA HOLDEN
Selma Holden, M.D., M.P.H. is an integrative family physician who offers legal psychedelic assisted psychotherapy at the Riverbid Clinic in Portland, Maine. She serves on the advisory board for Decriminalize Maine and is an assistant professor at the University of New England’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Â
Dr. Holden’s background in harm reduction raised her awareness of the traumatic histories that many people share, which guided her clinical training at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and Maine-Dartmouth’s Family Medicine Residency program. She received her degree in public health and completed her fellowship training in Integrative Medicine research at Harvard University.Â
Â
Recognizing the published evidence and anecdotal effectiveness of psychedelic assisted therapy for treating trauma, Dr. Holden advocates for the decriminalization of psychedelic mushrooms for personal growth.
