Pt 1. The role of Saprophytic Fungi in the Soil Food Web.

This presentation will explore the role of decomposing fungi within the matrix of the soil food web. While saprophytic soil fungi are still thought of as only a soil pathogen by most commercial farmers, there is a growing understanding of the essential roles that these soil decomposers play in the complexity of the hidden ecosystems of health soils. The emphasis of this talk will be on cultivated soils.

Pt 2.  The role of Mycorrhizal fungi in the soil food web.

This presentation will explore the role of mycorrhizal fungi within the matrix of the soil food web. What is the difference between Mycorrhizal fungi and Saprophytic fungi? and how do the later work with plants to increase nutrient uptake and immune system function.
